Junior UI Designer

The person in this position will work closely with the Digital and Creative teams to build interactive products to meet our client’s needs. Responsibilities for UI Designer:

• Meets and collaborates with internal teams and clients to understand their current digital/web experiences as well as identify pain points, needs and validate conceptual designs.
• Create concepts for the user experiences across our various digital products and development projects.
• Work with the Digital and Creative teams to translate feedback and journeys into wireframes, prototypes and specs that ultimately compose the new UI / UX experiences across Chamoy and our clients.
• Design the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors, fonts and icons.
• Build storyboards and/or decks to conceptualize designs and convey project plans to clients and management.
• Account for and track the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design.
• Conduct testing of completed applications, websites and software to assess user experience.
• Continued education and research into UI trends and current design strategy and technology.

Qualifications for UI Designer:

• 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UI design.
• Certification/Degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A portfolio of goal-centered interface design work in domains for web, desktop, and mobile.
• The ability to collect and synthesize feedback and input from users, research, stakeholders, product management, and internal teams and then incorporate that into our designs.
• Proficient with visual design programs such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces.
• Experience creating storyboards and site mapping.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize data for the best possible outcome.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently.
• Professional written and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript and how it can influence projects.
• Team player and willingness to jump in and help different teams within Chamoy.

Safety at Chamoy Creative:

At Chamoy Creative, the safety of our employees is one of our highest priorities. We are serious about making sure our employees and office are clean and sanitized on a routine basis. 

• Chamoy Creative’s normal in-office hours are 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, but is currently following a hybrid schedule with limited employees in the office. The schedule is subject to change as needed while monitoring the Covid 19 city data and risk levels. 
• Workstations and meeting spaces are routinely cleaned and sanitized after each use.
• Social distancing is standard practice while in the office.
• Facial coverings are highly recommended while in high traffic areas of the office and are available to everyone working at Chamoy Creative if needed.
• Hand sanitizer is also available to everyone working at Chamoy Creative to help maintain a safe workplace.
